ABOUT WONG CHUN WAI
Wong Chun Wai, 47, is the Group Chief Editor of The Star newspaper in Malaysia. Wong joined The Star in Penang in 1984 after graduating from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. He studied political science and history at UKM. He also attended leadership and management courses in American universities under Bank Negara's International Centre for Finance and Leadership. His stint included courses at Stanford University and the University of Southern California. He also won the prestigious Malaysian Press Institute award for best news feature in 2003. Wong, a Penangite, had his primary and secondary education at St Xavier's Institution. CAREER BACKGROUND Wong Chun Wai is the Group Chief Editor for the influential Star Publications, based in the headquarters in Petaling Jaya, Selangor
