Just say ‘no’ to shark fin soup
On The Beat
Sunday, 22 January 2012

Let us usher in the Year of the Dragon without the popular delicacy.

IT has taken me a long time to come to this decision but it needed to be made. I will no longer consume shark fin soup.

Enough is enough when it involves the senseless killing of sharks just for their fins, which are quite tasteless by the way.

On The Beat
Sunday, 01 January 2012
Spending more time outdoors and less time on the idiot box are some resolutions the writer hopes to achieve for 2012.

I AM not sure why many of us make New Year resolutions when we do not keep them. It’s a lot like politicians making promises which are not fulfilled. But I guess it is because we all want to set a target to improve ourselves.

Another year has passed us by and I have again come up with a string of new resolutions that I am not sure I can keep. But this time, I am putting them down in writing so that I cannot fall back on the excuse that I cannot remember, especially after last night’s hangover.
